Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A non-refundable retainer of $50 is required to secure a date. Deposit of $200 of 50% of package price is also due within 1 week of booking. Payment in full is required 10 business days prior to the session or event.

Can I keep the negatives?

I offer CD(s) with high-resolution JPGs files for all images provided in the online gallery with most packages.

What is your photographic style?

My "style" is visual story-telling that captures action, emotion and detail without interruption using existing light and subtle flash. Depending on your preference, I can include establishing architecture or landscape shots that set the scene for your event, posed shots that identify family and friends, and candids that shed light on what they are feeling.

How many pictures do you take?

The number of pictures I take depends on event type and length as well as on individual client preferences. For a basic events package (1 to 2 hours), I capture 75 to 150 images and select 50 to 125 for your online gallery. Minor editing and conversion from RAW (CR2) to high-resolution JPEG is done on the selected images.

Do you provide black and white photography?

Yes I do, along with color, sepia, and duo-tones.

How long does it take you to develop photos?

Online galleries will be available within 1 to 2 weeks. CD/DVD or mini-photobooks, are available within 2 to 5 weeks of your selection of images. Retouched prints are available within 2 to 3 weeks of your selection(s); other prints are available within 5 to 7 days of your selection of images.

Do you use digital or film?

I shoot only digital. Digital offers incredible post-production flexibility.

Can I see examples of your work?

I have a portfolio of samples available online at http://www.edenhensley.smugmug.com/Portfolio For local prospective customers, I'm also available to meet in person for you to review a hardcopy portfolio.

How far are you willing to travel?

Any travel within a 50-mile radius of Sunnyvale is included in package prices. Travel outside this area may be subject to an additional $75 fee depending on which package you chose. Other areas that I cover include Santa Rosa, Napa, Sacramento, Monterey and Yosemite. Expenses related to meals, lodging, and transportation are additional.

What services do you offer?

I offer on-location portrait sittings, engagement sessions and event coverage. For all coverage, online galleries are provided for viewing, sharing and printing images. I also offer Photoshop retouching as well as CD(s)/DVD(s), prints, mini-photobooks and magazine-style albums.

All packages include an online gallery for viewing, sharing and printing. Depending on which package you choose, I offer prints, CD(s)/DVD(s), mini-photobooks, magazine-style albums.

Can I keep the negatives?

I shoot only in RAW format (CR2). Before this format can be viewed or printed, it must be converted. As add-on services, I offer CD(s) for all digital files converted to 16-bit TIFF for $500 - $700 plus sales tax. NOTE: Files provided on the CD(s) have had minimal or no color-correction or sharpening, and may need to be adjusted significantly to obtain a color-corrected file.

What are your qualifications? Have you been professionally trained or certified?

I've studied art, photography and digital imaging at the De Young Museum in San Francisco with well-respected photographers, Santa Clara University and Foothill College. I regularly attend workshops and digital imaging seminars to keep my skills fresh. I'm a member of the Professional Photographer's Association (PPA) as well as the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP).
